United by a better way forward

We are the Collaborative Association of the Lower Mainland

Lawyers, financial advisors, separation and co-parenting therapists, and child specialists working together in teams— because families deserve coordinated, whole-picture support.

We believe separation doesn't have to be destructive. That families deserve more than survival. That the right support, at the right time, changes what comes next. We hold one another to that belief in how we work, how we collaborate, and how we show up for the people who need us most.

Why Collaborative Law?

When a relationship ends, most people believe they have two choices: go to court, or go it alone. Collaborative law offers a third way. Both parties work alongside their own lawyer and, where needed, financial and mental health professionals, to reach agreements that are fair, considered, and lasting. Everyone commits to full transparency and to resolving the process without litigation. The result is a process built around what matters most: the wellbeing of children, the stability of families, and the dignity of everyone involved.

Collaborative Family Law is a process where everyone agrees to work together to create positive, fair, mutually agreed solutions for resolving disputes arising from the breakdown of a relationship.

Essential to the process is a formal agreement between the parties and their lawyers that, while seeking resolution through the Collaborative Family Law process, the parties will not go to court.
